Lani M. Goodman, Esq.

Principal Attorney

is the Principal Attorney at Sundstedt | Goodman PC. She received her B.A. Degree in Psychology from California State University, Long Beach, in 2002, and graduated from Chapman University, School of Law with her law degree in 2005, where she was actively involved in the Student Bar Association and was a competitor on the Alternative Dispute Resolution Board. While in law school, she completed an internship with the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office, in the Justice System Integrity Division. She also completed a legal externship for the Attorney General, Department of Justice, in the Licensing Section where she actively participated in administrative hearings.

Ms. Goodman’s practice focuses primarily on trust and probate litigation. She has represented trustees, administrators and beneficiaries in contested trust, probate and estate matters, including real and personal property disputes, accounting disputes, financial elder abuse and undue influence claims. She also handles trust and probate administrations. With a strong litigation background, Ms. Goodman is uniquely qualified to assist clients through trust and probate administration, estate matters, and highly contested Heggstad and Probate Court Petitions, including contested claims pursuant to California Probate Code Sections 850, et seq. and 17200 et seq. Ms. Goodman is a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law.

Ms. Goodman has also represented business clients in partnership dissolutions, breach of contract claims, fraud claims, and employment litigation matters. She has recognized success and experience in assisting employers and business owners in defending claims related to ADA violations, labor code violations, and contract disputes.

Ms. Goodman is admitted to practice before all California courts and The United States District Court for the Central District of California. She has assisted in and conducted several jury and bench trials and has argued before the California Court of Appeal.

Ms. Goodman served on the California State Bar’s Committee on Administration of Justice wherein she assisted with the proposal, commentary and review of proposed changes in civil procedure, court rules and administration, rules of evidence, and other matters having an impact on the administration of justice in the civil courts. Ms. Goodman served as the Vice-Chair for the 2014/2015 year and as the Chair for the 2015/2016 year. Ms. Goodman has also served on the Orange County Bar Association’s Legislative Resolutions Committee.

Ms. Goodman a member of the California Lawyers Association in both the Trust & Estates and Litigation sections. She frequently participates as an active member in the Orange County Bar Association and Orange County Women Lawyers Association. Ms. Goodman is also an Accredited Attorney with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and enjoys performing volunteer work with the Veteran’s Legal Institute to assist Veterans in need.
